La Jolla Play House, Moving Light Programmer

Classification: Full-Time – Seasonal approx. 22-40 weeks/year, IATSE Hourly.

Under the direction of the Production Electrician, the Moving Light Programmer serves as a key member of La Jolla Playhouse’s Production Department Staff. The position is expected to function in a fast-paced and detail-critical environment, working closely with both the Production Electrician and visiting Lighting Designers to program moving light and conventional lighting rigs and run an EOS-based console for, at minimum, all tech weeks for all La Jolla Playhouse productions.

In this role you will manage go-to-market strategies and ongoing outbound product and brand marketing communication, traditional and digital, for the global business including domestic and international with the support of your own team.   • Extensive experience and knowledge of the professional or entertainment lighting technology.
  • The ability to manage a high number of simultaneous new product releases to market and other brand marketing projects with a comprehensive understanding of international sales channels, handle marketing needs, strategic implementation and technical delivery.
  • Strong management and communication skills, able to lead and inspire a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 or more years’ experience in marketing.

Elon University, Production Manager

The Production Manager is a staff position that will work with department faculty and staff to plan, oversee, and produce all Department of Performing Arts mainstage shows; analyze and track technical labor and supply budget for department productions; manage stock rentals; manage space scheduling for department venues for rehearsals and events; schedule student production crews.

  • PRODUCTION PLANNING & ORGANIZATION: - Co-facilitating production meetings with student stage managers - Co-chair of Season Selection and Calendar committee - Drafting, collaborating on, and maintaining the production season calendars. 
  • SCHEDULING TIMELINE: - Scheduling all production and rehearsal spaces with stakeholders - Scheduling backstage student crews - Planning load-ins and strikes with technical faculty & staff 
  • BUDGET & CONTRACT MANAGEMENT: - Managing student production contracting processes.
  • MANAGING INVENTORY: - Managing props, costumes, and scenery stock inventory - Managing archival photography scheduling and archive
  • TEACHING: Dependent on qualifications, will either teach Stage Management and mentor student Stage Managers or perform a significant non-teaching role in another technical theatre area.
