  • Perform incoming inspection and testing and repair of circuit boards received, using approved testing procedures and schematics

  • Review product manuals and case reports to perform needed repairs and service company products and PCBs
  • Associate degree in electronics, electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering
  • 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in repair/service of lighting, small electronics, or technical products
  • 18 months as a repair technician or similar experience in related lighting or video-based field

• SMU: Stage Lighting Technician (Associate Master Electrician Theater),

  • This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
  • This position will work in conjunction with the Stage Lighting Supervisor during production hangs/focuses and in the ongoing maintenance of the lighting inventory. The associate will provide support to graduate designers as they develop skills in advanced lighting technologies and prevailing practices used in the industry.
  • Essential Functions:
  • Assist Stage Lighting Supervisor with the hanging, cabling, and focus of all projection, conventional and intelligent lighting fixtures as designed and assist in trouble-shooting any problems that may arise.
  • With the Stage Lighting Supervisor, maintain all equipment in the lighting inventory. Help to generate and maintain up-to-date related paperwork.

Qualifications 

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in Theatre Lighting technology is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience is required. Candidate must have experience working with stage lighting elements, including basic wiring, console programming, and DMX addressing. Certified training for use and repair of intelligent fixtures and consoles is a plus.'

Susquehanna: Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre in Scenic and Lighting Design

Department of Theatre at Susquehanna seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre in Scenic and Lighting Design for academic year 2024-2025. The successful candidate will teach three courses each semester including Scenic Production (scenic and lighting practical application class), Scenic and Lighting Design, Introduction to Theatre and Script Analysis. Co-curricular responsibilities include creation of scenic and lighting designs for the department’s five-show mainstage season or supervision of student scenic and lighting designers. The successful candidate will be competent in computer-aided drafting and design software, scenic painting, and stage electrician skills. The MFA in Theatre with a concentration in scenic and/or lighting design is required, and three years of undergraduate teaching is preferred. Salary range $52,000 – $54,000.
