VP Event Presentation, Madison Square Garden, NYC

The Vice President Event Presentation will be responsible for supporting and executing all in-game production for the New York Rangers and New York Knicks. This role will be responsible for creating and curating content to enhance the MSG Sports fan experience and ensure that we are offering an experience that sets us apart from our competitors and offers best in class and state of the art entertainment to our fans and season subscribers. The role will take lead on production and presentation of team events such as partner functions, subscriber forums and charity events.

Additionally, the Vice President will be responsible for managing and tracking multiple projects in design from bidding through final delivery. The Vice President will interface cross-departmentally with the creative studio, Gardenvision, and Operations teams, and will be the main point of contact for our Hockey and Basketball show callers.

What will you do?

  • Leads the exploration, design, and implementation of technology/theatrical elements to enhance the “MSG Sports” fan experience for all NY Rangers & NY Knicks home games.
  • Sets, manages and executes season-long vision to bring the New York Rangers and New York Knicks narratives to life in-arena across all core game presentation elements. Strategically uses games as an opportunity to market programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as a point of contact to NHL & NBA for broadcast and entertainment related coordination.
  • Authors, manages and speaks to EP annual budgets (NYK & NYR regular season, post season, KCD, etc)
  • Secures live entertainment acts for all NYR & NYK games including anthem singers, halftime performers, etc.
  • Oversees strategy of all areas of programming and day-to-day operations for in-arena presentation and building services related to event presentation, such as all on-ice/court activity, music department, arena lighting, and entertainment coordination, game night staff, public address announcers, etc.
  • Develop in-arena partnership sales opportunities; including digital assets inventory analysis, creating sellable opportunities and generating programming ideas for new partners.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 10+ years’ extensive experience as a sports/entertainment production executive.
  • Proven track record in live events and sports production including managing complex production budgets and schedules.
  • Vast entertainment industry contacts.
  • This position must always be able to source and act on industry trends
  • Ability to produce videos and provide clear and creative direction.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of theatrical lighting, music and live production techniques
  • Must possess exceptional computer skills and an ability to generate cutting edge presentations.
Pay Range: $195,000—$220,000

Head Flyperson at Walnut Street Theatre

Walnut Street Theatre is seeking an experienced Head Flyperson. WST is a historic building with a hemp fly system. Primary responsibilities include: safely loading in all flown scenery and electrics, running technical rehearsals and performances, and maintaining the fly system. Ideal candidate will have extensive rigging experience, knowledge of knots and ropes, and be accustomed to running fly systems for live theatrical performances. Candidate will work closely with designers, management, and other onstage departments. This is a full-time, seasonal, IATSE position. If not already a member of IATSE Local 8, candidate will join the union. 

Base rate is $40.43 per hour.

Entertainment Stage Technician- Full Time/Part Time, Walt Disney World, Orlando FL

As an Entertainment Stage Technician, you will install, operate, and maintain the lighting, audio, props, video, pyrotechnics, automation, and rigging for dozens of live shows and special events across our parks and resorts.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $23.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Show operation and maintenance of all entertainment technical elements
  • Mixing live audio for bands and live events
  • Load and launch pyrotechnics for our nighttime spectaculars
  • Repair props and puppets used in our live shows
  • Program and operate lighting consoles for live shows and special events
  • Load in and operate equipment for conventions and special events
  • Manage entertainment warehouse inventory and repair high end gear
  • Drive company vehicles including trucks, lifts, and golf carts.


Required skills to specialize in one or more of the following technical disciplines:

Audio

  • Live mixing (front of house and monitors)
  • Experience setting up and tearing down audio gear (speakers, instruments, etc.)
  • Proficient in programming and operating digital consoles and advanced audio programs (Q-SYS, Dante, etc.)

Lighting

  • Read and implement lighting plots
  • Experience programming lighting consoles and moving lights
  • Understand basic lighting principles
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and circuitry

Video

  • Live event experience building and operating video systems from scratch
  • Video engineering experience for live events in multiple areas (i.e. switching, graphics, editing, etc.)
  • Media server and/or projection mapping knowledge
  • LED wall installation experience

Rigging

  • Familiar with theatrical overhead rigging practices
  • Experience with, and willingness to continue learning about, truss systems, chain hoists, and overhead safety guidelines
  • Able to obtain and maintain a CDL B license

Props & Puppets

  • Experience repairing and creating puppets and props
  • Able to recreate items based on template or mold

Show Support Warehouse

  • Relevant experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse with electronic inventory management systems
  • Able to obtain and maintain a CDL B license
  • Comfortable checking-in and checking-out all entertainment equipment, including packing and loading trucks for transportation
  • Familiar with performing inventory control checks

Show Control/Automation

  • Experience with setting up, operating, and maintaining show control systems and equipment for entertainment venues
  • Comprehension of networking and IT principles
  • Familiar with Navigator, Conductor, Q-SYS, and/or AMX is a plus

Pyrotechnics & Special Effects

  • Ability to obtain FL CDL with hazmat endorsement
  • Operate heavy equipment such as Roll Loader, Forklift, Scissor Lift and WAVe Lift
  • Warehouse and inventory management experience
  • Experience with programming, installation, and operation of live pyrotechnic systems
  • Knowledge of special effects systems (i.e. fog, lasers, haze, etc.)
