Jeffrey Miller Joins Pivotal

Jeffrey I.L. Miller has joined Pivotal, the Lighting Design Group of Affiliated Engineers (AEI), as Director of Lighting Design. Miller will direct the creative efforts of the two Pivotal studios in Madison, WI, and Seattle focusing on architectural projects with the seven lighting designers in these two locations.

Miller has over 25 years of architectural lighting design expertise, including private practice in Seattle and Hong Kong and, his most recent position, as Director of Lighting Design for NBBJ. He is a professional member of the International Associates of Lighting Designers (IALD) and serves on the IALD Board of Directors.

Many projects under his direction have been recognized for design excellence. Most notable is the McCormick Tribune Student Center at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago for Rem Koolhaas/OMA/Holabird & Root and the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hong Kong for Hirsch Bedner. Projects currently under construction include the 1.3 million sq.ft. International Terminal D at DFW Airport and the new Cleveland Clinic Heart Center.

Pivotal is an internal division within AEI, a national consulting firm providing engineering design services and specialties such as lighting design and information technology systems design. The firm maintains six offices, in is Madison, Seattle, Chapel Hill, NC, Washington DC, Gainesville, FL, and Walnut Creek, CA.
