Jands Vista Prize Won By Lighting Student

A.C. Lighting Ltd. has announceded that Elizabeth Spencer, a student and freelance production electrician from Golders Green, London, is the winner of the company’s Jands Vista prize draw at PLASA 06. Another Vista will be given away at LDI later this month

Spencer wins a 512 channel Vista lighting control system. Consisting of the Vista App software solution, a 512-channel DMX dongle and USB to DMX cable, the system provides full control of a lighting rig when installed on a laptop or desktop PC.

Spencer is in her second year studying Production Lighting at the Central School of Speech and Drama (CSSD) in London and decided to check out the Vista console whilst visiting PLASA 06 to catch up on the latest technologies.

She comments, “I’d heard about the Vista through colleagues in the industry and was keen to check it out for myself as it seemed a really interesting concept which was very different to other consoles I’d used. I really enjoyed watching the demo and was particularly impressed by how easy the console’s visual layout made it to use–you don’t have to go searching through loads of layers as everything’s right in front of you all the time on the main screen.”

Prior to starting the course Spencer studied performing arts and then took a gap year working at a local theatre, where she worked as a venue technician and learnt the basics of lighting.

On learning she’d won the Vista system Elizabeth said, “I’m over the moon at winning this prize. The Vista system’s great and I’m really looking forward to using it and showing it to others. I’m sure it will be a big help with my studies as well.”

A.C. Lighting is also currently running a major online competition to win a 1024 channel Vista control system. For full details and to enter the competition, go to www.aclighting.com/vista.

A.C. Lighting is the exclusive European, Middle East and North American distributor for the Jands Vista.
