J. R. Clancy Announces Three Staff Appointments

As part of an ongoing expansion, J. R. Clancy has promoted one staff member to the position of engineer and added an estimator and accounting manager at its corporate headquarters in upstate New York. The additions help Clancy meet the increasing demand created by business growth, as the company provides rigging systems for a wide range of construction projects.

Craig Eagleson has been promoted to the position of engineer from his project manager job at Clancy. Eagleson joined the staff a year ago, and his bilingual abilities made him invaluable as he managed dealer projects in Latin America as well as in the United States. In his new position, Eagleson will work on research and development of new products in all areas of Clancy’s expertise, with emphasis on automation and motorized rigging. An Ithaca, NY, resident, Eagleson earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Rhode Island, and a master’s degree in engineering from Cornell University.

Jennifer VanWaldick joins Clancy as the company’s accounting manager. Formerly an accountant for Bowers & Company, a certified public accounting firm in downtown Syracuse, NY, VanWaldick came to Clancy in December 2007. She now handles accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing for the company. A Watertown, NY, native, VanWaldick received a bachelor’s degree from Hartwick College, and earned her master’s in business administration at SUNY Oswego.

Bill Jones brings more than 35 years of theatre experience to his new position as estimator for J. R. Clancy. He works closely with dealers to translate job plans and specifications into price quotes for projects of all sizes. Jones ran his own scenic construction firm for 20 years, building sets for cruise ships and theatres while providing framing, carpentry, concrete work, and interior services to home and commercial building companies. His many theatre credits include technical direction for the Hartford Ballet, production management at Indiana Repertory Theatre, and technical direction at Syracuse Stage. A graduate of Onondaga Community College, Jones now lives in Eastwood, within the city of Syracuse.
