Inaugural PIFA2023 Kicks Off In Singapore Showcasing Pro Audiovisual & Lighting Technologies

Singapore –– The inaugural edition of Pro Integration Future Asia 2023 (PIFA2023), a professional audiovisual and entertainment lighting (AVL) technologies exhibition and conference for the region, runs today until 28 June 2023 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore. Launched by Montgomery Events Asia, together with its strategic partner, the Professional Audio Visual & Lighting Integration Association of Singapore (AVLIAS), the three-day in-person event is drawing trade professionals and experts interested in unified communications and collaboration; digital signage and out-of-home media; production and immersive technologies; parks and attractions; smart homes and buildings; and stage and mega events.

With the theme “Accelerating Digital Transformation: The Future of Work, Education, and Entertainment”, the event targets to attract attendees from 25 countries, with nearly 100 exhibitors from 13 countries showcasing a myriad of technologies and solutions in immersive telepresence, projection display, contactless and gesture controls, and home networking and automation among others.

The event kicked off with great fanfare, and the highlight of the opening ceremony was a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) signed between AVLIAS and nine trade associations from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Establishing industry partnerships through these MOUs enable the associations to work together towards the common goals of promoting, educating and growing their business communities. These associations include:

  • Pro Audiovisual & Lighting Integration Association of Singapore (AVLIAS)
  • Association of Electronic Industries in Singapore (AEIS)
  • Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME)
  • Defence Industries Association (DEFINA)
  • Singapore Association for Private Education (SAPE)
  • Singapore Industrial Automation Association (SIAA)
  • Singapore Photographic & Digital Imaging Trade Association (SPDA)
  • Security Systems Association of Singapore (SSAS)
  • Technology & Digital Creative Association of Malaysia (TDCAM)
  • Thai Software Export Promotion Trade Association (TSEP)

“AVLIAS is pleased to sign nine MOUs at the first-ever PIFA to form local and regional alliances that will help grow vibrant communities across multiple industries and the AVL sector. We aim to enhance the development of both local and regional outreach initiatives among the associations to further collaborate, and curate programmes to excel in new skillsets and individual capabilities. We look forward to these partnerships as we strive to create amazing experiences and continue to establish new alliances in this space,” said George Lin, President, AVLIAS.

Southeast Asia is one of the fastest-growing regions in the world, with its digital economy and tourism identified as key industries for driving economic growth in 2023. To create engaging and impressive experiences for attendees, Singapore is investing in new channels such as augmented reality, virtual gaming and the metaverse – with the Singapore Tourism Board and Sentosa even recently trialling an Extended Reality (XR) experience. AVL technologies play a huge role in making this happen, and this is evident as APAC is forecasted to contribute to 41% of overall growth in the professional AVL industry by 2027. These technologies can also be implemented in other settings – such as workplaces across various industries and classrooms – to elevate the audience experience in line with the shift towards a digital-first Singapore.

“Montgomery Asia is excited to open the doors to the first-ever PIFA show and welcome international delegates and attendees to this exciting trade show featuring an array of cutting-edge AVL technologies. These exciting digital advances will enhance many industries on multiple fronts – such as tourism, education, attractions, retail and many more. It’s also incredible to see many of the region’s trade associations inking their commitment to collaborate on this and future PIFA editions to further develop Southeast Asia’s pro AVL industry,” said Christopher McCuin, Managing Director of Montgomery Asia.
