IALD Holds Annual Conference in Chicago

The International Association of Lighting Designers will host its 33rd Annual Meeting and third Education Conference November 15-16 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, with 10 educational seminars covering architectural lighting design and business topics scheduled throughout both days. The Annual Meeting, including election results and the induction of new Fellows, will take place Saturday, November 16, at 8:30am.

Seminars and panels conducted by IALD experts and related business associates will cover all aspects of the profession including sustainable design, residential and exterior lighting trends, and light in art. A City of Chicago coordinating planner and an architect from Skidmore, Owings and Merrill will join IALD designers for a discussion of the Chicago Lighting Master Plan. Additionally, communication experts will host a workshop on presentation skills, and both a designer and attorney will conduct a presentation on creating effective business plans. The IALD's Lighting Industry Resource Council members, representing leading equipment manufacturers, will conduct focus groups on Friday, November 15. The following afternoon they will share new products, trends, and technologies during booth sessions.
