Hi-Tech Announces Las Vegas Opening

Hi-Tech Rental & Staging announces the opening of operations and its 27,000-sq-ft facility in Las Vegas. The firm, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2008, adds Las Vegas as a base location to existing operations centers in Atlanta and Orlando.

According to Hi-Tech president Al Dyess, CEM, the decision to add a physical presence in Las Vegas was customer driven. “Essentially, it was mandated by our customers who stage events not only on the East Coast but in Las Vegas and other Western venues,” he says. “We need to operate locally to serve them efficiently.”

Dyess said the facility will also support Hi-Tech’s new commitment to exhibition and event services contractor GES Exposition Services. Hi-Tech recently signed on as the preferred audio visual supplier to GES in Atlanta and throughout Florida, and will now also be positioned to work with show organizer and exhibitor clients on shows in Las Vegas and other Western cities when needed.

Hi-Tech has named industry veteran Freddie Onsaga as Show Operations manager in Las Vegas. Since 2002, Onsaga had directed his own firm, FJO Productions, a full event production design and management company in Las Vegas producing shows for associations and Fortune 100 corporate clients.

In addition to its existing customers, Hi-Tech’s Las Vegas operations center is looking to work with other associations, exhibit builders, producers and their corporate clients, and other AV suppliers, on events in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Denver, Phoenix, and other locations throughout the West. The company has distinguished itself over the years for maintaining large inventories of the most recent audio, video and lighting technologies and for its expertise in helping its clients use those technologies innovatively.

Dyess said the location for the new operations center, 7390 Eastgate Road in Henderson, was chosen because of its convenience to the Las Vegas convention centers and hotel properties. “Las Vegas is the hub of activity for our industry,” he notes. “As a leader in our field, we believe it is important for us not just to be here but to have a significant presence here, the kind of presence you would expect from an industry leader.”
