HES Debuts Podcasting

Those with iTunes, a video iPOD or podcasting software such as Juice, iPodder or iPodderX can now tap into fresh feeds from High End Systems (HES). The Austin, Texas-based entertainment lighting manufacturer has just announced the debut of its new podcast program, developed and produced by its in-house marketing department. The podcasts will include interviews, product demonstrations, tutorials, new technology “sneak peeks” and more.

HES has a long history of producing its own videos, which are posted on the HES website (). However, transmitting these special videos via an iPOD offers a portable convenience not offered by traditional web services. It also allows the ability to produce exclusive episodes, campaigns or podcast contests, which may or may not be shown on the web.

Tim Grivas, HES director of creative services, explains: “Offering our videos through podcasting gives our dealers, sales team, techs in the field and lighting professionals an immediate access. It could be a sales tool or an educational tutorial, right there with them when they’re traveling and away from their computers. iPODs are everywhere, and almost everyone has access to iTunes, and now our videos can go with them.”

HES’ freshest episode making its Podcast debut features an interview with lighting designer Oli Metalfe, currently on tour with Muse. HES’ Debi Moen conducted the interview, with Tim Grivas handling the video production.

Says HES Chairman/Co-Founder Lowell Fowler, “No one knows our products better than we do, so it’s natural for us to produce these videos in-house. Of course, as our digital lighting products are more video-related, the best way to show a video product is with a video. Podcasts are another way to help us deploy new information about our new technology.”
