ETC Architectural, the architectural lighting division of ETC, has hired Karl E. Haas as its new Western Regional Manager for Architectural Sales. Based at the ETC West office in Hollywood, Haas will serve a sales territory that includes Los Angeles, Las Vegas, the western U.S. and western Canada. He begins his position on September 14th, 2004.
Haas has designed for architecture, theatre, and dance for over 25 years. Most recently, he was principal of the Los Angeles office of Gallegos Lighting Design. Haas knows ETC’s architectural lighting systems well, having employed them on large projects like Argosy Casino, Kansas City, MO, LEGOLAND, Germany, and LEGOLAND California.
Haas’ entertainment lighting credits include serving as LD for the Bolshoi Ballet/Opera, the Kirov Ballet, the Spanish Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet. He has done regional theatre work as resident LD at the Actors Theatre of Louisville and at numerous other prominent playhouses and festivals. Other credits include productions at New York’s Brooklyn Academy of Music and resident LD for the Juilliard School.
