Genlyte Controls Celebrates Mike Connell

At the end of June Genlyte Controls’ seasoned regional sales manager Mike Connell entered into retirement. “We are very sad to see Mike go. You simply can’t replace the knowledge and reputation that he possesses and we feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work along side him,” says Julie Smith, Genlyte Controls general manager

Connell was feted by more than 30 close friends and colleagues at the Channel 4 Irish Bar and Restaurant in New York City on July 16, 2007.

After beginning his lighting industry career in 1968 with Kliegl Bros., Connell worked his way up from inside sales to director of sales. From there he went on to represent Strand Lighting with Larry Kellerman in the late 1980s, after which he later became a consultant for Teatronics, Inc. Connell joined Entertainment Technology as vice president of sales in 1997, and joined Genlyte Controls after Entertainment Technology was purchased by Rosco Labs, and sold to the Genlyte Group.

Matthew Burstein will now represent the New York metro area.
