Gallagher Joins Strong Entertainment

Strong Entertainment Lighting has named Jack Gallagher followspot sales product manager. Gallagher comes to Strong from Applied Controls & Entertainment Systems where he spent 17 years as the company’s president. He has more than 25 years’ experience in domestic and international building products markets, serving the entertainment equipment business.

Prior to his joining Applied Controls & Entertainment Systems, Gallagher spent seven years as regional sales manager for Colortran and two years as sales manager for Theatre Service & Supply out of Baltimore, MD. He also had various technical director positions with theaters in Maryland and Ohio. From 1990 until 1992, Gallagher also ran his business consulting practice where he developed an international manufacturer’s representative program for SSRC, a South Carolina manufacturer.

In his new role with Strong, which officially began on Monday, Jan. 3, Gallagher is responsible for generating sales revenue, customer service and product development guidance for the world’s most respected line of followspots. This includes the company’s most recent addition to its product line, Radiance. Gallagher reports to Strong Vice President Paul Rabinovitz.

“Jack adds a great, fresh new perspective to Strong’s client relationships and to our leadership position in the industry,” said Rabinovitz. “With his extensive experience, we’re looking forward to growing and strengthening both our business and that of our clients.”

Gallagher received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College in 1971 and his master’s in stage design from Catholic University of America in Washington, DC in 1973. In addition to a long list of professional accomplishments, Gallagher is also an active participant in business and industry organizations. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the treasurer for the Chesapeake Section of the U.S. Institute of Theater Technology (USITT). In the past, he has served as this organization’s vice chair for conferences and its founding chairman.
