Freret Joins American Audio

American Audio, a division of the American DJ Group of Companies, has completed the expansion of its management team by naming Tom Freret to the post of audio sales manager. A well-known audio industry figure for nearly two decades, Freret will work closely with the company’s current management staff--accounts coordinator Alfred Gonzales, technical director Joey Corral, and consumer and artist relations manager, Danny Cabrerra.

“Our entire audio team is delighted to welcome an individual as talented and knowledgeable as Tom on board,” says Scott Davies, general manager of the American DJ Group of Companies. “Tom brings with him a unique blend of skills and experience. Not only does he have an extensive background in audio, he’s worked in every facet of the business including retailing, so he has a hands-on understanding of our dealers’ concerns and can provide them with the highest level of service.”

Most recently, Freret served as a regional sales manager for Numark, where he helped launch a new West Coast distribution center. Prior to that, Freret held sales positions with Pro Sound & Lighting and America Gear.

A Southern California native, Freret says he looks forward to taking on new challenges at American Audio. “I am excited to be a part of a company that is built on a foundation of great products and excellent customer service,” Freret comments. “American Audio is known for many strengths--high-value, reliable products that are designed to exceed our customers’ expectations and be profitable for our dealers.” In his new position, Freret will supervise American Audio’s national sales and work with marketing personnel to promote the company’s products to end-users. He will also oversee the American Audio product assortment and help develop new markets and expansion opportunities within the audio products category. As part of his duties, Freret will work directly with American Audio dealers, providing them with training tools, display ideas and materials, and ongoing customer support. “Tom will use his retailing expertise to help our dealers and their salespeople maximize the sell-through of American Audio products to the ultimate consumer,” said Davies. “As always, we will continue to sell our products only through authorized dealers, and never direct.” Freret said that one of his immediate goals will be to find out what new audio products dealers would like to see and fill gaps in the existing American Audio product line. “We are going to work hard to continue to bring dealers new, innovative products that will increase their sales and profits,” Freret said. “This is going to be an exciting year for American Audio!”
