Tuesday seems like a perfect day to dig in and get to work online. We sloughed off the Monday blues and are ready for a really busy day. Lighting design, safe re-opening concepts, new wyg features, and a session for riggers are all on the docket for Tuesday, August 11, 2020, and be sure to check ahead for cool stuff later in the week. As our events require both technicians, supervisors, and often the public to gather in moderate to very large groups in close proximity, the “back to work” dates are looming somewhere in the far-off future. The best we can do at this moment is to plan responsibly for the safe return first of event personnel, and then of the public. To facilitate this discussion, the IATSE has been working with professionals to establish guidelines and baselines for that eventuality. • Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre: Love Stories: This three-part ballet was created in 2004 and features choreography by the dynamic Judith Jamison, hip-hop pioneer Rennie Harris, and modern dance maverick Robert Battle. Love Stories was inspired by Sankofa, the Akan word which means "go back" (Sanko) and "take" (fa). Costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Al Crawford. Through August 13. Watch Here.
