Flying High With Goodspeed Designs

In partnership with the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, Goodspeed Musicals is presenting musical theatre artifacts ranging from set pieces to props and costumes at the entrance of Terminal A, Second Floor in Bradley International Airport, Windsor Locks, Conn.

Celebrating Goodspeed Musicals and 40 years of musical theatre, the exhibit, located in the Connecticut Commission on the Arts showcase, features a bevy of tools used in the creation of a musical, from drills to crates to blueprints as well as props and costumes from a variety of Goodspeed shows including Oh Lady! Lady!! (1963), Annie (1975), Man of La Mancha (2000), Dear World (2000), Great Expectations (2001) and King of Hearts (2002).

On June 18, 1963 the Goodspeed Opera House was reopened, rededicated and began its now 40-year commitment to the preservation and development of musical theatre in America. Since that time Goodspeed has produced more than 183 musicals, 16 of which moved to Broadway and 43 that were world-premiere productions.

The exhibit runs through November 3.
