Project Name
Magic Lights by Protergia was designed and created for Protergia, a leading Greek energy provider and was assigned to Lighting Art by “The Newtons Laboratory” and the “White Rhino” Agency, both based in Athens, Greece.
Design Criteria
A festive brand journey that unfolds naturally across the park, turning every interaction into part of a larger Christmas story. The main goals were to have the audience feel and experience both the Christmas spirit and the the energy behind the brand through a walk in the park.
Project Description
A journey through light, where illumination continuously transforms a dynamic and evolving landscape, shaping the atmosphere, perception, and experience of the space.
Challenges and Solutions
One of the key challenges was to make the lighting fixtures as visually discreet as possible. Installing the lighting elements within the park and trees presented both a technical challenge and an opportunity to develop a sensitive approach to the natural environment. The design carefully considered the existing ecosystem, ensuring that the animals and birds inhabiting the park would not be disturbed. The lighting was therefore integrated into the landscape with minimal visual impact, while maintaining the desired atmosphere and immersive experience for visitors.
From an innovation perspective, a custom multi-prismatic reflector was introduced to split each light beam into dozens of individual beams. This approach allowed us to create a richer and more dynamic distribution of light, transforming a limited number of light sources into a complex and immersive lighting experience while maintaining a minimal visual presence within the landscape.
Equipment
Around 100 mini lasers, wash lights, hazers and T/C in order to run the every day Show.
