ETCP Announces Eligibility Requirement Survey

The ETCP Council is requesting the entertainment industry’s feedback. The first ETCP Rigging Skills Certifications will be geared towards highly experienced riggers (rigging supervisors, high steel riggers, etc).

In order to ensure that candidates with the appropriate level of experience and knowledge sit for the examinations, the Council has developed a survey that allows people to review and comment on the proposed eligibility requirements to take the examinations.

If you are an employer of entertainment riggers or they work in your facility, or if you are an experienced rigger, we need your feedback! Please click here.

ETCP will set standards for safer working practices and reduce workplace risk in all entertainment venues. Industry experts will develop rigorous assessments, conduct examinations, and award credentials to qualified entertainment technicians. ETCP will focus on disciplines that directly affect the health and safety of performers, crews, and audiences, beginning with rigging skills and electrical skills.

The ESTA Certification Council members are key leaders drawn from entertainment business, labor, facilities, associations, and academia representing the diversity of the entertainment industry. Membership includes AMPTP, CITT, CCE, IAAM, IATSE, ICIA, PRG, TEA, and USITT.
