ESTA & PLASA Announce The Release Of ICOPER V2

Four years after the first version of the International Code of Practice for Entertainment Rigging was released, ESTA and PLASA release version two to download. 

Like submissions to the code, the documents creators are truly global: Nick Barnfield (New Zealand), Tiny Good (Australia), Chris Higgs (United Kingdom), Ed Kish (United States), Bill Sapsis (United States), and Roy Schilderman (The Netherlands).

According to ESTA, the practices described in the Code are intended to provide a universal foundation for those engaged in planning, managing and executing entertainment rigging. ICOPER also provides guidelines for those who wish to develop policy, design training content or help establish certification criteria.

While the Code is not legally binding, if adopted in practice it will lead to predictable outcomes and greater safety for both performers and rigging practitioners.
