The ED 2004 Sound Products of the Year

Five new products released in the last year with applications in the theatre sound market have been chosen by a panel of working theatre sound designers as the 2004 Entertainment Design Sound Products of the Year. The five winners will be featured in the Feburary 2004 issue of Entertainment Design and will be honored at the annual EDDY Awards in New York next June.

The winners are:

Aviom Personal Monitor Mixing System. "Very nice solution to an always annoying problem, and it doesn't add much to the wiring," say the judges.

HME PRO850 Wireless Intercom. "The more we use it, the more we like it," say the judges. "PL communication between belt pack is a godsend."

Meyer UPJ-1P Compact VariO Loudspeaker. "Fills the gap between line arrays and single boxes," say the judges. "Sounds very musical."

Trantec S6000 Wireless System. "It really seems designed for what we do," say the judges. "The built-in Ethernet and monitoring of units on a standard network is fantastic."

Yamaha DM1000 Digital Mixing Console. "Yamaha keep pushing the envelope on the cost/performance front," say the judges. "They sound great, are intuitive, and have a small footprint."
