Dolly Parton To Launch ‘Dollyverse’ at SXSW, Dropping NFTs and Live Streaming Performance

We’ve been introduced to the Brooklyn Nets’ Netaverse, DJ Steve Aoki’s A0K1VERSE, and Megan the Stallion’s upcoming Hottieverse — now, country music legend Dolly Parton will be launching her very own Web3 experience, Dollyverse, at SXSW next week.

She and author James Patterson, who is the co-author of her new novel Run, Rose, Run, will be dropping limited edition NFTs of her new album of the same name as well as Dolly-inspired NFT artwork. Dollyverse was developed in partnership with Fox Entertainment’s Blockchain Creative Labs, which is at the forefront of Hollywood NFT projects, including Fox’s MaskVerse.

Parton will also be performing at the event for the first time and will be livestreaming her performance on the blockchain. Both the NFT drop and the show will be going down on March 18th, and fans can create a free wallet through Eluvio to access the experience. In-person attendees will also be able to claim a free NFT.

“Dolly Parton’s participation in SXSW 2022 fulfills one of our longtime goals and we’re absolutely ecstatic to have her involved in this year’s event in such a unique way,” said Hugh Forrest, SXSW Chief Programming Officer, in a statement. “Beyond her legendary status in the music industry, Dolly embodies the SXSW spirit as she extends her unique brand of creativity across many verticals. Most importantly, Dolly serves as an inspirational and unifying role model for millions of fans — spanning different ages, occupations, and viewpoints — from all over the world.”

“There’s almost nothing more important to me than connecting with my fans. And I’m almost always up for trying something new and different,” added Parton. “I'd say releasing NFTs at my first ever appearance at SXSW, with James Patterson by my side, definitely counts as new and different!”
