Dodd Technologies Designs/Supplies Two Major Projects

Dodd Technologies (DTI), the meeting, event, and concert production company, recently completed work on two major projects.

Recognized as one of the top country music stations in the country, awarding-winning WFMS tapped DTI to produce its “Fan Jam” concert, on September 28 at Conner Prairie, in Fishers, IN. Featured performers included Darryl Worley, Patty Loveless, Jimmy Wayne, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Buddy Jewell, and Phillip Steven. DTI provided staging elements, lighting, sound, and production management services.

George Briner, co-national promotions and marketing, DreamWorks Records/Nashville Dreamworks Music, said, “We love working with Charlie Morgan [market manager], Bob Richards [program director] and the entire WFMS team as well as its concert production partner, Dodd Technologies, on the many events they produce. Dreamworks’ artists, including Darryl and Jimmy, Emerson Drive, and Jessica Andrews, play literally thousands of venues each year, all around the world, and the WFMS shows are always well-produced. You can imagine that we run into a number of production situations where staging, lighting and sound can be major issues. But that’s never the case with Dodd Technologies. These guys are pros at showcasing artists with the best show production available."

In addition, DTI worked on an employee awards show for Cook Inc. Nearly 2,000 people attended the event, which was staged at the historic West Baden Springs Hotel in West Baden Springs, IN. The production included concept, set design, staging, lighting, sound (including acoustic enhancement of the venue), video and graphics production, multi-screen projection and management, and production management. DTI also provided staging, lighting, video projection, and sound production services for the event’s featured entertainment, John Mellencamp and his band.

Star Meetings and Events’ president Mike Attebury, said, “By all accounts this year’s Cook Inc. Awards Show was outstanding. The acoustic treatments, along with DTI’s usual attention to detail, made this show the best we have ever had using the West Baden venue. The clients were amazed at the difference in the sound quality of the room and that it was achieved without covering up the architectural beauty of the atrium.

“We almost always specify our own production for these types of events,” said Rocky Holman, tour manager for Mellencamp. “You take a big risk when using unknown vendors, especially when they are doing the whole ball of wax. Dodd supplied lighting, sound, staging, power and video. After meeting with the Dodd folks involved with the show and reviewing their gear spec, with few minor changes, my confidence was high. Overall I was pleasantly surprised, you couldn’t find a nicer, more professional crew if you tried. Everything worked, they did what they said they would, the work was done quickly and efficiently."
