DiLenge And Kader Join The Lighting Practice

Tara A. DiLenge and William M. Kader join The Lighting Practice, Inc., Philadelphia lighting design consultants.

Lighting designer Tara DiLenge, IES, IALD, has experience in architectural lighting design for a broad range of commercial lighting projects, including exterior and interior lighting assignments for museums, retail, entertainment, hospitality, educational institutions, and private residences.

A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, she earned her Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree with a specialty in Lighting/Electrical. She was previously with Fisher Marantz Stone, New York, and Passamonte Lighting Design, Valencia, California. DiLenge is a member of the International Association of Lighting Designers and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA). One of her past projects, Mohegan Sun Casino, Uncasville, Conn., has been cited for several awards, including the IESNA, and New York Construction News.

Projects on which she is currently working for The Lighting Practice include the renovation and expansion of Aaron Burr Hall at Princeton University, Robert Wood Johnson Children's Hospital, New Brunswick, N.J., and the North Hills Center, Raleigh, N.C.

William M. Kader, IES, who has been with the firm for four years, has been named an Associate. Kader is a designer and project manager for The Lighting Practice's clients throughout the U.S. He joined The Lighting Practice after a 15-year career as a lighting designer for television and theater productions. His expertise also includes lighting control and dimming, energy management, and lighting systems analysis.

For The Lighting Practice, Kader's recent responsibilities range from the Sports and Recreation Center at Ramapo College, Mahwah, N.J., to Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Va., the ballroom at the Dover (Del.) Downs Hotel and Conference Center, and the production studios for the Utah Opera, Salt Lake City. Other projects are façade lighting for the New Jersey Historical Society, Newark, Walnut Towers at the Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, and shopping centers for The Mills Corporation in Arundel County, Md., near Baltimore, St. Louis, and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is also active in marketing The Lighting Practice's services with president Alfred R. Borden, LC, IALD, IES, and vice president Helen K. Diemer, FIALD.

Kader, who received his B.A. in Communications from Richard Stockton College, Pamona, N.J., is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA). He has been speaker at IESNA regional and national meetings, and has Environmental Protection Agency approval as a Green Lights Certified Lighting Designer. Several of his projects have won design awards, and his work has appeared in professional journals published in the in the U.S. and overseas.

The Lighting Practice has won numerous awards for its creative designs and energy-saving illumination solutions for U.S. and overseas clients in the fields of education, healthcare, shopping malls and entertainment centers, corporate offices, hotels and conference facilities, and transportation hubs.
