Digital Projection International Appoints Evans On West Coast

Digital Projection International (DPI), an Emmy Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection systems, has hired Doug Evans for the position of West Coast market development manager. Evans brings over 15 years of A/V sales experience to the DPI organization.

Evans comes to Digital Projection with an impressive display technology sales history, dating back to 1991. Most recently, he was the director of sales and product marketing for Akira Display Corporation. In this role, Evans worked to grow the Akira brand by establishing a worldwide network of representatives, introducing and promoting new products via targeted sales and marketing campaigns and by building strategic OEM relationships with other manufacturing partners.

Prior to his role at Akira Display, Evans held other sales manager positions in the West Coast region including a five-year term as senior field sales engineer at NEC Solutions America. While at NEC, Evans managed regional sales and marketing activities as well as the design and installation of large venue projection systems. Additionally, he provided technical systems integration support by managing projects for major A/V reseller partners from proposal to integration and continuing through product training and development. Evans’ experience in the A/V industry also stems from holding similar sales and technical positions at Sony Electronics, MCSi/Minnesota Western, Be Here Corporation, and Spinitar Presentation Products.

Mike Levi, president of DPI, commented, “Doug’s extensive experience selling and marketing high performance displays is well aligned with DPI’s objectives for our products and brand in the west coast region. Over the past two years, our product line has expanded in scope and capabilities, and the number of prospective end users who can now benefit from DP’s precision large-screen display solutions has never been greater. We are pleased that Doug is joining our team and look forward to the contributions he will make in serving our West Coast customers and helping us to reach our full potential in that market.”

Evans will begin representing Digital Projection and working with its dealers and reps on the West Coast immediately. The territory includes California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, and Washington.
