DeLoria Exits Apogee Sound

After 18 years as founder and president of Apogee Sound, Ken Deloria has has officially left the company to pursue other interests. He will now concentrate on consulting, commissioning, tuning and operating sound reinforcement systems for installations and events worldwide. Apogee had been acquired by Bogen several years ago.

"During the years that I ran Apogee," says DeLoria, "I was fortunate to be able to help many clients achieve maximum performance of their sound systems by participating directly in system design, tuning, operator training and other hands-on tasks for a great number of permanent installations, shows and events, which was highly rewarding."

DeLoria has taught a Master Class in system alignment at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, and schooled freelance engineers in the use of his CORREQT system optimization methods. He is currently working on a series of books aimed at sound reinforcement professionals.

"I am delighted to focus on the branch of the audio industry where the rubber meets the road," notes DeLoria. "I immensely enjoy live performances and the challenges associated with providing top-notch sound reinforcement, especially in difficult acoustic environments. I wish continued success to all of Apogee's efforts going forward."

Steven Walker, who was recently appointed managing director of Apogee Sound, says, "I have always admired Ken's work, and I look forward to helping grow the company in the spirit in which it was founded."
