DaVinci Fusion Produces Gala VIP Dinner

DaVinci Fusion demonstrated its production expertise and quick-change artistry when it produced the gala sit-down dinner for 680 VIPs, participants and judges the night before the 54th Annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, a worldclass celebration of automotive design, craftsmanship and history.

DaVinci Fusion provided full turnkey event production to include the decor, linens, table decorations, lighting, sound, and entertainment for the pre-Concours dinner catered by the Pebble Beach Company. Just 24 hours before transforming a huge tent on the grounds of The Lodge at Pebble Beach Equestrian Center into the elegant, atmospheric Smokey Joe’s Blue Note Cafe, the company had produced the Concours d’Elegance’ fashion show, a marriage of high fashion and luxury automotive styling sponsored jointly by Hearst Magazines and Lexus USA, in the same venue.

"The dinner was the last opportunity for guests, sponsors and benefactors to mix and mingle before the 5 am start of the Concours d’Elegance when the serious business of judging more than 200 cars got underway," says DaVinci Fusion president Solomon Rosenzweig who served as show director of the premier Concours event, dubbed The Kentucky Derby of classic car shows.

DaVinci Fusion evoked a sultry supper club in the tent where it had created a fashion show just hours before by altering the layout of the space, creating an elegant new decor and devising a lighting scheme that enhanced the cachet of the exclusive cafe.

"After the fashion show Friday evening we removed the stage and turntable and added buffet tables and the sound system for Sista Monica, Artist of the Year winner from the Monterey Bay Blues Festival," Rosenzweig says. "We changed the stage appointments to shimmery draperies to create an evocative background for the singer, washed the ceiling with blue musical notes in a play upon the name of the cafe, and gave the dance floor a full stage-lighting treatment."

2004 marks the 15th year of DaVinci Fusion’s participation in the Concours d’Elegance. The company provided sound and coordinated AV activities for Concours day which drew thousands to the 18th Fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links where actor Edward Herrmann served as MC and auto aficionado Jay Leno announced raffle winners. In addition, DaVinci Fusion provided lighting for the week-long 50th Anniversary of Ferrari display on the 3rd Fairway at Pebble Beach.
