The hottest new grrrrl pop star goes on tour. LD Ethan Weber uses High End Systems moving lights, with Avolites control, and a lineup of gear from LSD, Lycian, Diversitronics, ETC, UVFX, and Columbus McKinnon.

Incubus
By Sharon Stancavage

Joe Paradise makes a splash with this cool alternative metal band. Bandit Lites supplied the equipment, which includes gear from Martin Professional, High End Systems, Flying Pig Systems, ETC, and Coffing Hoists.

Kenny Chesney
Pollstar calls Kenny Chesney on of the year's top-grossing acts. He's the latest country star and LD Mike Swinford has given Chesney's "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem" tour a stunningly sophisticated look. MOVIES

Road To Perdition
The first big entry in this year's Oscar sweepstakes is Road to Perdition, an epic gangster drama featuring stars of three different generations (Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Jude Law). Distinguished DP Conrad Hall has given Sam Mendes' latest film a dark, moody, compelling look. John Calhoun reports.

TECHNOLOGY

Jubilee’s new dimmers
By: Michael Eddy

Jubilee is Las Vegas' longest-running spectacle, the show made infamous by the E! reality series Vegas Showgirls: Nearly Famous. The last word in old-style Vegas glitz, it offers everything from dancing girls to the sinking of the Titanic. 4Wall Entertainment recently replaced the production's antiquated dimmer system with an ETC setup—in record time.

Catalyst Training
By Ellen Lampert-Greaux

The High End Systems Catalyst is this year's most talked-about product, created by Peter Wynne Willson of WWG, that allows a video projector to act like a DMX-controlled moving light. We take a look at how to use this new system with High End programmer Vickie Claiborne and a few other pioneers.

FILM

The Four Feathers
By: John Calhoun
Bob Richardson shoots the latest version of the classic film, a story of cowardice and heroism among British soldiers in 19th century Sudan.

THEATRE

Bombay Dreams
By Ellen Lampert-Greaux

Hugh Vanstone lights this new West End musical hit, a look at life in India's hugely popular Bollywood movie industry. It's a gorgeously colorful design, for a musical like no other. Companies involved include ETC, James Thomas, Altman, Howard Eaton Lighting Ltd., Vari-Lite, Martin, Le Maitre, Bowen, Wybron, and Triple E.
