The first big entry in this year's Oscar sweepstakes is Road to Perdition, an epic gangster drama featuring stars of three different generations (Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Jude Law). Distinguished DP Conrad Hall has given Sam Mendes' latest film a dark, moody, compelling look. John Calhoun reports.

The last word in old-style Vegas glitz, it offers everything from dancing girls to the sinking of the Titanic. 4Wall Entertainment recently replaced the production's antiquated dimmer system with an ETC setup—in record time.
