ALAMEDA, USA – Clear-Com® played a central role in delivering seamless, real-time communication for the Fryderyk Awards Gala, one of Poland’s most prestigious live music television broadcasts, held at Tauron Arena in Kraków. The large-scale production relied on Clear-Com to connect stage, broadcast, front-of-house, and technical teams throughout rehearsals and the live show.
Produced by The Brawlers, the event featured live musical performances and a complex production workflow requiring uninterrupted, hands-free communication across multiple departments. Clear-Com's distributor, Commercial Audio, served as a key partner on the project, supplying and configuring the complete communication system and working closely with the production team to ensure reliable performance across all departments.
The system was built around Clear-Com's Arcadia® Central Station, which functioned as both the system backbone and user interface. Its compact 1RU design supported 2-wire, 4-wire, IP, and native Dante® audio-over-IP, delivering up to 64 channels without external converters. This configuration allowed monitor engineers to communicate directly with zero delay, while preprogrammed routing and a single talkback microphone simplified communication between engineers and stage technicians.
Arcadia was integrated with the OB truck through a 4-wire connection, bridging third-party intercom systems and maintaining continuity between broadcast and production teams. Wireless coverage across the venue came from 10 Clear-Com FreeSpeak II® beltpacks operating across 1.9 and 2.4 GHz frequencies. These beltpacks were organized into four dedicated channels for monitor engineers, front-of-house, and technical staff, reducing unnecessary chatter and improving clarity during critical moments.
The deployment also incorporated Gen-IC® virtual intercom, allowing remote team members to quickly come online via Agent-IC® mobile app and Station-IC™ to communicate using phones, tablets, computers, and smartwatches. LQ Series® interfaces connected these users directly to the intercom system, keeping communication consistent between on-site and off-site personnel. A HelixNet® digital partyline panel positioned at front-of-house added flexibility for guest access and backup, while Bluetooth headset support provided hands-free operation for key crew members.
"Successful live productions depend on clear communication between every department involved," said Krzysztof Borowicz, at Commercial Audio. "For the Fryderyk Awards Gala, Clear-Com provided the flexibility needed to keep broadcast, stage, and technical teams connected throughout the event."
Together, the integrated wired, wireless, and cloud-based Clear-Com solution improved response times, streamlined technical workflows, and reduced the risk of miscommunication during the live broadcast.
