Christie Introduces New Simulation Solution for Seamless Image Mapping

Christie introduces the world’s first purpose-built, three-chip DLP simulation projector--MirageSIM--combining high resolution, high contrast and Christie edge-blending technology in a single system. MirageSIM is a high performance, non-stereo simulation tool designed to support seamless mapping of large-scale images across multiple screens.

Based on an SXGA resolution (1280x1024) light engine with dark metal digital micro-mirror devices (DMDs), the MirageSIM features a high contrast ratio (1000:1) and improved black level for the display of close-to-reality images. The MirageSIM features minimum frame delay between the projector input and the screen display to provide sharp, vibrant images without loss of detail, flicker or motion artifacts.

Christie’s built-in edge-blending software allows for multi-channel display with blending on all four sides of the image. External opto-mechanical adjustable blinders, mounted on projection lenses, offer further blending of black levels for an incredibly seamless image.

At 4000 ANSI lumens, the MirageSIM is powerful even in high ambient light conditions to accommodate various room brightness levels. With brightness uniformity from center-to-edge of screen and LiteLOC constant brightness tracking features, images remain bright, consistent and constant. Christie-designed Primary Color Adjust ensures true color representation, color matching and uniformity across multi-screen images.
