Catalyst to Rock Super Bowl

Six High End Systems Catalyst Version 3 Media Servers are set to add an eyeful of visual excitement to the Super Bowl XXXVIII Halftime Show. The musical lineup features P. Diddy, Kid Rock, Nelly and Janet Jackson at the NFL "Super Bowl Sunday" game, airing live February 1 on CBS from Houston's Reliant Stadium.

High End's Catalyst Version 3 Media Server offers a fusion of lighting effects and digital media. Using Catalyst Version 3 software combined with the fastest processing capabilities, the server provides real-time rendering of up to four layers of digital media. Controlled by a DMX lighting console, Catalyst Version 3 Media Server may be combined with any projection screen or LED wall to create virtual scenery. It may also be used with High End Systems' DL1(TM) digital light engine to project images anywhere in 3D space.

Super Bowl viewers will see the Catalyst Version 3 Media Server in action by watching the images on the LED screens at the end of the stadium, and the images on the onstage screens alongside the musical performers.

VLPS is supplying the Catalyst units, as specified by LD Allen Branton. Also on the lighting team are Lighting Directors Christian Choi and Kevin Lawson, Gaffer David Oakes, and High End Systems Catalyst Lead Engineer Danny Beardmore. MTV: Music Television is producing the Super Bowl Halftime Show for CBS.
