Book Marks: Bob Weis On Four Decades Of Success And Failure At Walt Disney Imagineering

When Bob Weis started at Disney Imagineering there were two theme parks. By the time he left, the saying goes, the sun did not set on Disney Parks because they are literally all around the world. Weis started straight out of architecture school, but instead of creating buildings he created worlds. In this interview he discusses the evolution of Imagineering from a tiny part of Disney started by Walt himself into the company it is today and the process of make dreams come true for millions of people every year.

Nurturing the creative process was a large part of Weis's tenure at Imagineering. As he says in the interview, "If everyone can agree 'This is the story, this is the experience we are going to create,' then we ask, OK, how are we going to do that? And there are lots of ways to do something." Of course, you could get halfway through the project and find it won't work, but if you don't begin the process with a "never say no" attitude, your safe choices will become boring experiences.
