Bob Moody Teaches Spring Seminar at Cobalt Studios

Cobalt Studios is excited to announce that professor Bob Moody will be the guest instructor for the Spring 2002 Specialty Pro-Seminar, Painting Translucent Backdrops, and is inviting all scenic artists, scenic painters and set designers interested in honing or developing their scenic skills to attend this special course.

You know those magical translucent backdrops that lighting designers love? Now you can create your own and view the striking results under lights.

Professor Moody, master scenic artist at Brandeis University has extensive scene painting and teaching experience, including work for repertory theaters, television, opera, professional scenic studios, and colleges and universities around the country. He was a scenic-artist crewmember at St. Louis Municipal Opera (MUNI) for 24 summer seasons: the latter 11 seasons as master scenic artist chargeman. In addition, he was chargeman scenic artist at ABC Television in Chicago for five years, and was also on the faculty of Goodman School of Drama in Chicago for five years.

In addition to its Specialty Pro-Seminars, Cobalt Studios runs a highly regarded 2-year full-time Scenic Artist Training Program. Cobalt Studios also hosts other seminars each year including the 3-week Summer Scenic Painting intensive, July 29th-August 16th, 2002 and the two-week Advanced Scenic Painting seminar, June 17th-June 28th, 2002.

Tuition for the Translucency seminar is $400.00. A $100.00 deposit is required in advance to hold a place, as space is limited. Housing and board is available at $35.00 night. Courses are held in the scenic Catskills Mountains at Cobalt Studios, White Lake, NY.
