Bill Groener Leaves Color Kinetics, Joins PRG

Color Kinetics, the Boston-based manufacturer of LED products, has announced that Bill Groener has resigned from his post with the company, effective April 1. The resignation is based solely on personal reasons. Groener will join PRG as vice-president and general manager of their permanent installation group and be based in the metro-New York area.

“The last year has been full of challenges and accomplishments and I am truly grateful to Bill Sims and George Mueller for the opportunity that they gave me. Color Kinetics is (and will continue to be) a tremendous operation and I have great respect for the work that we have done and for the people who ‘make it happen’ day in and day out. I have absolutely no doubts that the initiatives that we started will result in profitable growth and that Color Kinetics will remain the market leader when it comes to Intelligent Solid-State Lighting," states Groener.

"My resignation is based solely on personal reasons. My family lives in Connecticut and I found that I was traveling frequently and working in Boston the remainder of the time. This situation has become unbearable and has forced me to take this action.

"I am certainly not going to work for any competitive organization. In point of fact, I have been offered the opportunity to become vice-president/general manager of the newly formed PRG Permanent Installation Group and, in accepting that role, I will be returning to the Metro NY area and to project-based work that I know and enjoy. If you’re looking for me, I can be reached at [email protected]."

As of April 1st, Color Kinetics contacts will be: Brandon Siemion ([email protected]), Rob McCulley ([email protected]) and Jason Rakip ([email protected]).

Color Kinetics thanks Groener for his tremendous contributions in the past year, and wishes him the very best in his future endeavors.
