Avolites Hosts "Awareness Day"

London-based lighting control manufacturer Avolites is holding a series of "Awareness Days" for its new ART 2000i installation dimmer range of products. These Awareness Days, hosted by Avolites' engineer and ART 2000 systems designer J.B. Toby, are designed to highlight the benefits and practicalities of using the Avolites ART 2000i dimmer range.

Avolites' Steve Warren says, "We've always operated on an 'open house' policy here at Avo, and we actively encourage visitors to come in, use the demo room, and experiment with the products. The Awareness Days are an extension of that process. We want to encourage technical innovation and discussion in a relaxed environment with other interested parties, whilst simultaneously demonstrating the products in a non-pressured situation."

The ART2000i was launched at PLASA last year and is already proving popular for all types of installation applications. Recent ART installs include 672 channels for a new studio in Beirut for the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation, a smaller system for the new Moat Theatre Club, Naas in County Kildare, Ireland, and the first UK system into Blackpool Grand Theatre.

Much interest in the dimmer has been generated from many sources including the Avolites website, inquiries to the sales office, and from in-the-field feedback, and this has prompted the Awareness days. The first has just taken place, and another three are planned over the next year. The positive feedback has resulted in Avolites producing a development plan to expand its installation product range in the future.

At the first Awareness event, attendees included representatives from leading UK lighting rental companies such as White Light and Stage Electrics, and international participants and distributors included High Resolution Lighting from Ireland.

Other new Avo products were also available for inspection and hands-on operation, specifically the Pearl 2004 and the new, streamlined Diamond 4 Elite console. Avolites also previewed the new bar remote controller for its Azure 2000 console--the next in a series of innovative, installation-orientated products from the company. Guests also enjoyed lunch, refreshments, and a guided tour of the building.
