The Aviator Flies Home With Four Design Oscars

As stars swept into the 77th Academy Awards at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, February 27, it was anybody's guess who the winners might be. But if Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby took top awards for Best Actress (Hilary Swank), Best Supporting Actor (Morgan Freeman), Director (Clint Eastwood), and Best Picture, it was eclipsed in the design categories by The Aviator, which scooped up a total of five Oscars including Cinematography, Art Direction, Cinematography, and Costume Design. The fifth was for Cate Blanchett, as Best Supporting Actor.
