ATOMIC Announces Expansion of R&D

ATOMIC, a creative company providing set construction, rental solutions, design and production services for the live event industry, announces the expansion of its research and development department along with naming Rob Barber Vice President of R&D + Rental Solutions. Barber has held the title of Vice President of Rental Solutions for the past nine years and looks forward to leading the innovations in his added role of the research and development team.

Barber brings 25+ years of executive leadership in technology and systems implementation to this expanded role. Since joining ATOMIC in 2010 as vice president of rental solutions, Rob has implemented fundamental changes in the scenic rental industry while staying true to ATOMIC’s “Packs small, plays BIG” mantra. Rob now oversees rental solutions locations in Lititz, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and Frankfurt as well as the research and development department headquarter in Lititz, PA.

Rob will oversee the team of engineers and R&D specialists to utilize the tools ATOMIC has invested in, like it’s state-of-the-art 3D printer to help launch many new modular systems in the coming months and years. The 3D printer exemplifies ATOMIC’s commitment to technology, innovation, and the environment marrying state-of-the-art technology, fast-turn manufacturing and zero-waste printing.

“With Rob’s expanded role his leadership will bring together the efforts of R&D, Product Development, and Rental Solutions to strengthen our continued focus on fast-tracking innovative new products,” comments Daniel McPhillips, President of ATOMIC.

Rob Barber was recently awarded the Medal of Honor from the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. This inaugural award honors those who have made significant achievements in the fields of art, design, creativity, culture, education and their communities. Rob is an active community leader having served on the Boards of the Lancaster Office of Promotions and Lancaster Farmland Trust. Nationally, he serves on the Advisory Board of the Parnelli Awards.
