Anne Militello To Represent Women In Lighting At LDI2021

At LDI2021, lighting designer Anne Militello discusses the history of women in lighting and the pioneers who blazed new trails for female designers and industry leaders. She is the CEO/principal designer at Vortex Lighting, based in Los Angeles, and a professor at CalArts, as well as a concert lighting designer, architectural and theme park designer, and fine artist. Her designs for the theatre span Broadway, Off Broadway, and Regional Theater, including collaborations with Sam Shepard, Maria Irene Fornes, Richard Foreman, Tom Eyen, filmmaker David Lynch, and others. She has received an OBIE Award for Sustained Excellence in the Off and Off-Off Broadway Theater, an American Theater Wing nomination, several Joseph Jefferson Awards, Dramalogue Awards, Ovation nominations, and others. Militello is also representing Women In Lighting, an inspirational digital platform that profiles women working in the field of lighting and lighting design. It aims to promote their passion and achievements, narrate their career path and goals, celebrate their work and therefore help elevate their profile. It aims to increase the profile of women working in lighting to help encourage, support and inspire the next generation.
