Life Of Pi Wins Olivier Awards For Scenic And Lighting Design

Olivier Awards went to Tim Hatley for set design and Nick Barnes & Finn Caldwell for puppets, and to Tim Lutkin and Andrzej Goulding for the lighting design of Life of Pi at Wyndham’s Theatre in London's West End. Life Of Pi also won the Olivier for Best New Play and the seven actors who "play" the tiger won the award for Best Supporting Actor, while Hiran Abeysekera in the title role won the Best Actor award, making the play a big winner at the awards ceremony on Sunday, April 10 at London's Royal Albert Hall. 

 

The Olivier for Best Costume Design went to Catherine Zuber for Moulin Rouge! The Musical—for which she already won a Tony Award for the Broadway version of the musicalwhile the Best Sound Design Award went to Nick Lidster for Cabaret, which also won the Olivier for Best Musical revival.
