Live Design's fourth annual 31 Days Of Plots features one production per day during the month of December 2021, highlighting a different lighting design, from across theatre, concert tours, corporate events, live for broadcast, and more, as we wind down 2021 and head toward the new year.
Day 30 of 31 Days Of Plots 2021 takes a look at the series of plots for Flying Over Sunset at Lincoln Center Theater's Vivien Beaumont Theatre. Tony Award-winning lighting designer Bradley King talks about his lighting for this new musical with Brendan Lemon for the Lincoln Center Theater Blog in which he says: My primary job...is to support the storytelling provided by the creative team.”
Set in Hollywood in the 1950s with a group of people—including Aldous Huxley, Claire Boothe Luce, and Cary Grant—are taking LSD at a beach house overlooking the Pacific Ocean.Sets are by Beowulf Boritt, costumes by Toni-Leslie James, projections by 59 Productions, and sound by Dan Moses Schreier. Director James Lapine also wrote the book, with music by Tom Kitt.
