Live Design's fourth annual 31 Days Of Plots features one production per day during the month of December 2021, highlighting a different lighting design, from across theatre, concert tours, corporate events, live for broadcast, and more, as we wind down 2021 and head toward the new year.
Day 26 of 31 Days Of Plots 2021 features Daniel Thibault of Life Is Art Studios, who designed lighting with a bold color mix for the band, Big Something, an alternative American rock band based in Burlington, NC. For their three performances at Greenfield Lake Ampitheatre, an open-air, 1,200-capacity facility in Wilimiington, NC, on Halloween weekend, the rig comprised fixtures from Chauvet and Elation (see gear list below).
Interestingly, when designing his lighting, Thibault does not create traditional plots but uses 3D Vectorworks drawings, as pictured. "We don’t start in 2D very much any more except for corporate projects," explains the LD.
