31 Days Of Plots: 2021 Oscars

Live Design's fourth annual 31 Days Of Plots features one production per day during the month of December 2021, highlighting a different lighting design, from across theatre, concert tours, corporate events, live for broadcast, and more, as we wind down 2021 and head toward the new year.

On Day 4 of 31 Days of Plots 2021, we revisit the plots shared by LDs Bob Dickinson and Noah Mitz of Full Flood in LA who lit the 93rd Oscars at Union Station, a new location with limited seating, natural lighting, and other challenges due to the pandemic. In fact, it was a very unusual year for the Academy Awards, as this live-for-broadcast salute to Hollywood moved out of the theatre and into a site-specific venue reconfigured for the event, with scenic treatment by David Rockwell of Rockwell Group (read about his design here).
