An artwork made up of 2,977 lights has been produced over New York Harbor, recreating the Twin Towers with drones for the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attack. The lights represent the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001.

The work is a collaboration between artistic advisors Drift, creative director Addison Mehr, producers Sky Elements, Shigeru Ban, Dean Maltz, Yan Paul Dubbelman and 9/11 families, survivors, and responders.

Although there is a tribute in light every year, the lights, titled, "2,977 Lights Over New York Harbor" is a reminder of the stature of the towers, dwarfing the buildings around them.
The production is made possible by Sky Elements Drone Shows, the largest drone light show provider in the US, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and IDEKO, which led federal and city permitting, safety and security operations.
