2026 Outer Critics Circle Awards Announced

While Schmigadoon! and Ragtime each garnered five Outer Critics Circle Awards when they were announced on Monday, May 11, the only show to win more than one design award is The Lost Boys, scooping up honors for outstanding scenic and outstanding lighting. These awards will be presented on May 21 at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center. It will be interesting to see if they will be reflected at the 2026 Tony Awards on June 7 as the scenic, lighting, projection, and costume winners are also nominated (Mexodus is not qualified as it's an Off Broadway production). As is Tony's wont, the projection design for Ragtime is a co-nomination in the lighting category, a situation the video/projection community would like to see rectified in the future.
