Zachary Borovay: Creative Consultant BPMC

Projection designer Zachary Borovay serves as creative consultant for the 2012 Live Design Broadway Projection Master Classes, Monday, May 21 at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in New York City. The BPMC is part of Live Design’s comprehensive Broadway Master Classes program, which encompasses the BLMC and BSMC as well.

Borovay's Broadway credits include Elf, Lombardi (Drama Desk nomination), Rock of Ages, A Catered Affair (Drama Desk nomination) and Xanadu. He is currently designing projections for the Broadway revival of Evita.

Other recent projects include projections for the multimedia circus spectacular Voyage de la Vie at RWS Resorts in Sentosa, Singapore and Peepshow at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. He also designed projections for The Creature from the Black Lagoon attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood.

In addition to his work as a visual artist, Borovay is also a formally trained musician, having studied jazz bass at both Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music.

He also worked with United Scenic Artists Local 829, the union representing theatrical crafts such as scenic, lighting, and costume design, to create a new category for projection designers.
