BROADWAY MASTER CLASSES TO SEE EVITA

All eyes are on Elena Roger, Ricky Martin, and Michael Cerveris, stars of the Broadway revival of the award-winning Tim Rice-Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Evita, directed by Michael Grandage. Three members of the design team—lighting designer Neil Austin, projection designer Zachary Borovay, and sound designer Mick Potter—are on the faculty of the 2012 Live Design Broadway Master Classes, making Evita the perfect show to see and discuss.

“We have broken with tradition and selected Evita for both the sound and lighting classes this year,” explains David Johnson, publisher of Live Design and executive producer of the Master Classes. “Both Neil Austin and Mick Potter are making their Master Classes debut, which is very exciting and we are pleased to welcome Zachary Borovay back as the creative consultant for the projection classes. We are really looking forward to seeing their excellent work on Evita.”

The BSMC will see Evita on Friday evening, May 18, while the BLMC will attend on Wednesday evening, May 23 (a ticket to another show will be made available to full-conference attendees who do not want to see Evita twice). All three designers will present in-depth discussions of their work, and there will be short Q&As in the theatre following the performances.
