Broadway Designers Focus On Projection

Projection designer Zachary Borovay, creative consultant for the 2012 Broadway Projection Master Classes, has pulled together a compelling day on Monday, May 21 at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, focused on Broadway projection design. The roster of speakers includes his fellow designers, Peter Nigrini, Sven Ortel, and Jeff Sugg.

Borovay will discuss his projections for the current Broadway revival of Evita (this year's BMC-selected show), and share in a discussion with designer Jeff Sugg on interesting projection projects, from Lombardi to Magic Bird, and other recent shows. Sven Ortel, one of the featured designers at last year's BPMC, returns with an in-depth session on Image Mapping and Scenic Tracking in Theater. All three of these designers will also discuss the different media servers on the market, and how to make an educated choice as to which one is the best for any given production.

The final discussion of the day features Borovay and projection designer Peter Nigrini in session entitled: Melody, Harmony, Rhythm: A look at how projection designers translate musical ideas into visual ones....the perfect subject given Nigrini's eye-popping success with the pulsating visuals for Fela!

Register today and focus on the best of Broadway projections.
