CMC Speaker Bio: Lee Rose

For over 35 years, Lee Rose has been designing lighting for TV, film, music, and theater. Since 1998 Lee has been a partner in Design Partners, Inc. in Burbank, California. He is a member of the Cinematographers Guild, USITT and the Illuminating Engineering Society.

His feature film credits include Bringing Down the House, Vanilla Sky, Almost Famous, and Southland Tales. His TV lighting design is seen regularly on shows such as The Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, Dick Clark’s New Years’ Rockin Eve, ABC’s Disney Parks Christmas Parade. His past work includes series and specials for ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC. Lee has also designed the lighting for music specials including; Garth Brooks, Natalie Cole, Johnny Lang, Roy Orbison, Les Paul, Bonnie Raitt, Carly Simon, N-Sync, John Tesh, and Wynonna.

Lee was twice nominated for Emmy Awards for his work with Yanni, including the Yanni: Live at the Acropolis concert at the nearly 1,500 year-old Herod Atticus theatre, and for his lighting design work on Yanni: Tribute.. a show that featured concerts taped at the Taj Mahal, in Agra India, which was the first time in history that the Taj was illuminated, and The Forbidden City in Beijing China. In addition, Lee was awarded LDI Lighting Designer of the Year award for his lighting design work on that project.
