Rob Halliday

Rob Halliday has been working on shows around the world as lighting designer and lighting programmer for the last 20 years.

As lighting programmer and/or associate lighting designer, he has been involved with Evita, the Tony Award-winning Red, Hamlet, Equus, Mary Poppins, Oklahoma! and Putting It Together in New York, plus countless other shows including Betty Blue Eyes, Billy Elliot, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Ragtime, Footloose, The Coast of Utopia, Martin Guerre, Matthew Bourne's Cinderella, and the film My Week With Marilyn around the world.

As a lighting designer, his shows include Buried Child and West Side Story (Leicester Curve), Goodbye Barcelona (Arcola, London), Daddy Cool (London, Berlin), The Wizard of Oz (US tour), the Russian Romance concerts (London, St Petersburg) and others. He has had a decade long involvement with the Royal Academy of Music in London, during which time he has lit Cabaret, A Chorus Line, City of Angels, Follies, Jane Eyre, Sweet Charity, Tommy and others. He was co-lighting designer for the acclaimed touring productions of My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins and Equus.

Halliday is a guest artiste at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, a regular speaker at lighting trade shows, and a contributor to a range of lighting-related publications, some of these articles now collected together in the Entertainment In Production books.
