Lindsay Jones, sound designer and composer for Bronx Bombers—which was produced at Circle In The Square from January to March 2014—makes his debut on the faculty of the Broadway Sound Master Classes in New York City, June 4-6, 2014. He will appear on the Designer/Composer Panel, with Mark Bennett and Leon Rothenberg to discuss the challenges of wearing of two hats as designer and composer.
“Our two biggest challenges were trying to compose music that holds up to the epic legacy of the Yankees and also trying to mike the actors in the round and get even coverage around the theatre to every member of the audience,” says Jones about the sound for Bronx Bombers. “We used a Yamaha DM2000 console and our speakers were Meyer Sound UPA 1-P's, 2-P's, MSW's, and UP-1P's. Mics were DPA 4021. We used a redundant system of Qlab 2 on Mac Minis. There was also a Yamaha DME n64 processor.” All of the gear was rented from Sound Associates.
