Two Tony award-winning, New York-based designers are creating a buzz on the Stratford Festival's stages in Canada for the 2006 season: Desmond Heeley, who is designing set and costumes for London Assurance, his 36th production at the festival; and Santo Loquasto, who is designing the sets for both Coriolanus and Oliver!…Jack Morton Worldwide won a 2006 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement Art Direction, Set Decoration and Scenic Design, for the set design of daytime talk show Martha. The Emmy was awarded to James Fenhagen, president of Jack Morton Design, and John Casey, senior design director…Production designer Dara Wishingrad, whose work spans from corporate events to dance companies, has entered the world of film, with several movies coming out in the next year, most notably the new Charles Busch film A Very Serious Person, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival…Greg Brunton of Design Partners cooked up the lighting for the recent NBC reality show The Celebrity Cooking Showdown…Scenic designer James Morgan, costume designer Pamela Scofield, lighting designer Jeff Croiter, and sound designer Eric McMiller collaborated on the York Theatre Company's production of A Fine and Private Place that opened on April 27 at Saint Peter's Theatre in New York City. Croiter had a busy month in April, also lighting the new comedy, Show People, by Paul Weitz, that opened at 2econd Stage Theatre in New York City. The design team included set designer Heidi Ettinger, costume designer Jeff Mahshie, and sound designer Lewis Finn.
